FAQs Sennheiser | Frequency scan with WSM
WSM frequency scan: connect all EW-DX devices, enable Online Mode, scan via Frequency Manager, analyze spectrum, coordinate, allocate, and sync transmitters. Below are steps on getting a frequency coordination going in WSM.

1. Open and connect devices

  • Open WSM. All your EW DX devices should automatically show up if on the same network and your network settings are correct. You can add devices by IP address using the System pane on the right half of your screen.

2. Verify online mode and remote access

  • Once verified that all devices are online, click the System tab and verify that Remote Access and Online Mode are checked.

3. Open Frequency Manager

  • Click the Frequency Manager tab, then click on Professional Setup.
  • Once the Professional Setup Dialog box shows up, the Devices tab should be the first thing you see.

4. Perform frequency scan

  • In the Devices tab, you should again see all your devices that are online; pick one of the mic channels to do a scan with, and then click the Start Frequency Scan button on the right.

5. Analyze frequencies

  • Once the scan has completed, go to the Frequencies/Bands tab. Adjust the Noise Threshold to -96dBM, and then click Analyze Frequency Spectrum, which will show usable and unusable frequencies.

6. Start coordination

  • At this point you're ready to do a coordination — click the Coordination tab, and then click Start Coordination.
  • Let it run for about half a minute or so, then click Pause Coordination.

7. Allocate and send frequencies

  • On the Allocation tab in the left box you’ll get a list starting with your current coordination. Click Allocate Automatically, then Send to Connected Devices.

8. Sync transmitters

  • At this point your EW DX receivers should be coordinated and allocated with new frequencies.
  • Lastly, sync all your mic transmitters to their respective receivers after frequencies have been allocated.
