Architecture and Engineering Specifications
The speaker shall be of the full range, two-way passive type consisting of one 12" (300 mm) LF ferrite driver and one 1" (25 mm) HF ferrite compression driver with 1.5” voice coil. Performance specifications of a typical production unit shall meet or exceed the following: frequency response, measured with swept sine WAVE input, shall be flat within ±3 dB from 72 Hz to 20 kHz and within -10 dB from 44 Hz to 20 kHz. Nominal dispersion, at -6 dB points, shall average 80° H x 60° V, rotatable. Nominal impedance shall be passive: 8 Ohms.
Power handling shall be passive: 500 Watts continuous, 2,000 Watts peak. Sensitivity, measured on axis, mean averaged over the stated bandwidth, shall be 98 dB, 1 Watt @ 1 metre. Maximum SPL of 137 dB in passive mode (Average Peak level over overlap bandwidth. SPL level at 1 m under free field conditions, using pink noise with crest factor 4, with dedicated pre-set).
Dimensions: 635 mm high x 375 mm wide x 394 mm deep (25 x 14.8 x 15.5") Net weight: 26.3kg (58 lbs). The loudspeaker system shall be the Turbosound KT12-HP. No other loudspeaker shall be acceptable unless submitted data from an independent test laboratory verifies that the above combined performance / size specifications are equalled or exceeded.
