Sennheiser Professional Phantom Power Supply | 48V Microphone Power

A professional phantom power supply provides the power required by compatible microphones while keeping the audio signal within the same connection. In professional recording and sound systems, an external phantom power supply can be useful when the connected mixer, interface or preamp does not provide the required power. Sennheiser professional phantom power solutions are intended for compatible microphone setups that require a dedicated power source.

48V Phantom Power in Professional Audio

Phantom power is commonly used with condenser microphones. The DC voltage travels through the balanced microphone connection, allowing the microphone to operate without a separate power cable.

Many professional mixers and audio interfaces already include phantom power. A dedicated supply becomes useful when additional equipment is needed within the signal chain or when the existing system does not provide the required phantom power.

Using a Professional Phantom Power Supply

Compatibility should be checked before connecting a phantom power supply. The microphone, connectors and other audio equipment need to support the intended configuration. The position of the power supply within the signal chain should also follow the requirements of the equipment being used.

For studio recording, live sound and other professional applications, a correctly configured power system helps maintain a reliable microphone setup. Always refer to the specifications of the connected equipment before applying phantom power.
