Can I use an EW-DP / EK receiver with a guitar pedal?
The EW-DP receiver is a compact device primarily designed for camera-mounted wireless setups. However, thanks to its convenient size and versatile form factor, it can also be effectively used as a wireless receiver mounted on a guitar pedalboard.

The EW-DP EK is a compact receiver primarily designed for use as a camera-mounted wireless receiver.

However, thanks to its convenient size, it is also highly suitable for use as a wireless receiver on a guitar pedalboard.

When connecting, it is important to note the type of cable used: the receiver’s output provides a stereo unbalanced line-level signal, while most guitar pedals accept a mono unbalanced input.

Therefore, a specially wired cable should be used according to the following diagram:

EW-DP EK Output Pedal Input
3.5 mm mini-jack, 3-pole 6.3 mm jack, 2-pole
sleeve sleeve
tip tip
ring no connection

You can also use the included 3.5 mm to XLR cable from the EW-DP EK package and connect it through an XLR-to-jack adaptor to the pedal.

The receiver can be continuously powered via a USB power supply, making it ideal for fixed setups.
