Recently, we completed the design and equipment configuration plan for the new Nhon Duc Church. Due to the church's high ceilings, open architecture, and acoustically reflective surfaces, Hoang Bao Khoa conducted a detailed site survey and developed a system configuration using 100% genuine equipment to optimize speech intelligibility and maintain the solemn atmosphere required for the inauguration ceremony.
Synchronized Church Audio System Configuration Using European Loudspeaker Brands
For church services, sermons, prayers, and choir performances, every word and musical note must be delivered clearly and naturally to every member of the congregation. To achieve this goal, Hoang Bao Khoa combined professional loudspeaker solutions from TANNOY (United Kingdom) and FBT (Italy).
The main loudspeaker system consists of two TANNOY VLS 7 (EN 54)-WH column speakers and two Tannoy VLS 5-WH column speakers. These loudspeakers utilize vertically aligned midrange drivers to focus sound directly toward listeners while minimizing reflections from ceilings and walls. To provide even coverage in difficult listening areas, two Tannoy OCV 6-WH ceiling-mounted loudspeakers were added.
The sanctuary and pulpit areas are reinforced with two FBT VENTIS 206A active loudspeakers, providing fuller mid and low-frequency reproduction. For outdoor coverage, two weather-resistant FBT SHADOW 108CT coaxial loudspeakers ensure that attendees outside the church can clearly follow every part of the service.
Modern Digital Matrix Processing Center for the Church Sound System
Managing multiple loudspeaker zones and Microphone sources requires a powerful and reliable control platform. Therefore, the entire system was designed around a modern digital processing infrastructure.
At the core is the Klark Teknik DM8500 matrix processor, featuring redundant Dante and AES67 audio networking capabilities. This processor enables advanced equalization, zone management, and precise feedback control. All audio sources are mixed through a Midas DM16 16-channel analog mixer equipped with the renowned Midas microphone preamps, ensuring warm and natural vocal reproduction.
Amplification is handled by premium commercial amplifiers from Lab Gruppen, including one E 12:2 amplifier, one CA1202 amplifier, and two CA2402 amplifiers. These units provide reliable performance and energy-efficient operation. The altar area is also equipped with a Turbosound TFX152M-AN coaxial monitor loudspeaker rated at 1100 watts, allowing speakers to monitor their voices clearly.
Premium Microphone and Connectivity Infrastructure
The pulpit and choir areas were equipped with specialized Microphones to accurately capture both speech and musical performances.
Three JTS ST-6000 metal gooseneck microphones were installed at the pulpit. These Microphones offer excellent vibration isolation and handling noise rejection. The choir section utilizes six Behringer HM50 hanging condenser microphones featuring wide frequency response and cardioid pickup patterns to capture vocal performances while minimizing background noise.
The system also includes one Sennheiser EW-D ME4 SET digital lavalier microphone system and one BaoMic BM-88 dual-channel wireless microphone system to accommodate flexible speaking requirements.
The entire infrastructure is connected using Rean NSB1C-8/0 stage boxes, ABCCabls CAT6-SFTP network cables, Tasker C404 four-core cables, and Tasker C286 two-core signal cables manufactured in Italy. All connectors are supplied by Neutrik and Rean. System power management is handled by an HBK SOUND HS7 power sequencer housed within a professional 12U equipment rack.
