The speaker shall be of the full range, two-way passive type consisting of one 8" (200 mm) LF driver and one 1.0” (25 mm) HF driver. Performance specifications of a typical production unit shall meet or exceed the following: frequency response, measured with swept sine wave input, shall be flat within ±3 dB from 85 Hz to 20 kHz and within -10 dB from 75 Hz to 20 kHz. Nominal dispersion, at -6 dB points, shall be 82° conical, averaged 1kHz – 10 kHz. Nominal impedance shall be passive: 8 Ohms.
Power handling shall be passive: 60 Watts continuous, 240 Watts peak. Sensitivity, measured on axis, mean averaged over the stated bandwidth, shall be 88 dB, 1 Watt @ 1 metre. Maximum SPL of 106 dB average measured at 1 m under free field conditions, using unweighted pink noise.
Dimensions: 398 mm high x 251 mm wide x 198 mm deep (15.7" x 9.88" x 7.80"). Net weight: 8.7 kg (19.2 lbs). The loudspeaker system shall be the Tannoy DVS 801. No other loudspeaker shall be acceptable unless submitted data from an independent test laboratory verifies that the above combined performance/size specifications are equalled or exceeded.
