EW-DX SK, SKM Low Cut
The EW-DX SK has a setting range of off to 120Hz. The EW-DX SKM has a setting range of 60Hz to 120Hz. The reason the SKM does not go below 60Hz is due to control any handling noise that may become audible for going below 60Hz.

Low Cut Adjustment Range for EW-DX SK and EW-DX SKM

1. Adjustment Range:

The EW-DX SK offers a Low Cut filter range from Off up to 120 Hz. The EW-DX SKM provides a range from 60 Hz up to 120 Hz. The reason SKM does not support settings below 60 Hz is to control handling noise, which often occurs in the frequency band below 60 Hz.

Setting range:

  • For EW-DX SK | EW-DX SK 3-PIN: Off, 30 Hz, 60 Hz, 80 Hz, 100 Hz, 120 Hz
  • For EW-DX SKM | EW-DX SKM-S: 60 Hz, 80 Hz, 100 Hz, 120 Hz

2. Adjusting the Low Cut Filter on EW-DX EM2 and EM4:

Access the receiver menu, select a channel (1–4 depending on EM2 or EM4), then scroll to the Low Cut option. Here you can set the Low Cut parameter for the transmitter from Off to 120 Hz. If you configure the Low Cut for SKM below 60 Hz, once synchronised with the receiver, the transmitter will default to 80 Hz since SKM does not support lower values.

3. Adjusting the Low Cut Filter in Sennheiser Control Cockpit:

When adjusting the Low Cut parameter in Control Cockpit, the change is actually stored for the corresponding channel on the receiver. A synchronisation step is then required to apply the change to the transmitter.

As with direct configuration on the receiver, if you set the Low Cut for SKM below 60 Hz, the transmitter will automatically revert to 80 Hz upon synchronisation, as SKM does not support values lower than 60 Hz.
