The Behringer BQ-10 is a classic analog sequencer featuring 24 STEPS and comprehensive Control Voltage (CV) functionality in a Eurorack-compatible format. Inspired by the vintage SQ-10, it offers hands-on control over synthesizer sequences, modulation and trigger signals for electronic music production.
Classic Analog Sequencing Inspired by the SQ-10
The BQ-10 combines the traditional workflow of vintage analog sequencers with expanded sequencing and control functions. Its dedicated step controls allow musicians to create and modify voltage sequences for controlling pitch, filters, amplitude and other compatible synthesizer parameters.
Flexible 24-Step Sequencing with Three Channels
The BQ-10 offers three 8-step channels. Channels A and B can operate together as a single 16-step sequence or independently as two 8-step sequences. Channel C provides an additional 8-step sequence for controlling parameters on an external synthesizer through CV connections.
This configuration allows multiple control sequences to be created and adjusted within the same system.
Individual Step Voltage and Trigger Control
Each step features a dedicated voltage output control and trigger output, providing direct access to individual sequence settings. Connecting selected step trigger outputs to the Reset input allows users to create sequences shorter than the standard 8-step or 16-step configurations.
Eight Sequence Playback Modes
The rotary Sequence Mode selector provides eight playback modes for channels A and B. These modes offer different sequence arrangements and playback behaviors, while channel C can operate continuously depending on the selected configuration.
Internal Clock Generator from 20 to 500 BPM
The BQ-10 features an internal clock generator adjustable from 20 to 500 BPM. The Clock Generator control determines the progression speed of the sequence.
External CV inputs allow compatible voltage sources to control clock speed. The sequencer also supports external clock synchronization through its dedicated synchronization connections.
Independent Portamento Controls
Dedicated portamento controls enable smooth transitions between successive control voltages. This allows musicians to adjust the movement between STEPS, from distinct changes to gradual voltage transitions.
Portamento is especially useful for creating pitch glides and continuous modulation effects on compatible synthesizers.
Eurorack-Compatible Design
The BQ-10 is designed for integration into standard Eurorack systems. Its sequencer module can be installed in a compatible Eurorack case, providing flexible control options for modular synthesizer configurations.
The unit can also be used as a standalone sequencer, making it suitable for studio production and live electronic music performance.
