EW G3/G4 Interference or Noise Issues

Evolution Wireless radio microphones work on an FM analogue transmission (just like the FM radio in your house or car).

Each radio microphone system must be operating on a frequency which is free from interference. This interference could come from another radio microphone, or from other equipment. (our microphones work in the spaces between domestic TV signals so TV transmitters in your area could be a source of interference too!).

You will need to check with your local regulatory authority which frequencies you can use in your country - some are free to use, whereas some may require a license to operate - you can find more information on our International Frequency Advisor.

To know if you have interference on your frequency:

  • Start with the receiver turned on, and the transmitter turned off.
  • Look at the RF display on the receiver - do you see anything shown? If there is any RF displayed then this is potential interference and it would be good to switch to another channel.
  • Turn on the transmitter - do you see a strong RF signal? If so, all should be good.
