Security and Network Infrastructure Requirements

Can an audio channel be protected from unauthorized access?

Yes. The QR Code or Channel ID of any channel can be changed at any time. Once changed, all users currently connected to that channel will be disconnected and can only reconnect using the new QR Code or Channel ID.

In addition, each channel can be assigned its own PIN code for enhanced security.

What is the maximum bandwidth required for a MOBILECONNECT STATION?

The required data rate for each mono or stereo audio stream is 165 kbps.

For 100 simultaneous listeners (the maximum number supported by a MOBILECONNECT STATION), the network should reserve at least 20 Mbps of bandwidth to ensure stable audio streaming.

Frequently Asked Questions About Sennheiser MobileConnect

Does the system require an Internet connection?

The MobileConnect system only requires an Internet connection when operating in Manager Mode, as MobileConnect Manager uses cloud connectivity for authentication and system updates.

When operating in Standalone Mode, MobileConnect does not require an Internet connection.

For end users' smartphones, Sennheiser recommends connecting to a Wi-Fi network with Internet access. Some smartphones may automatically disconnect from Wi-Fi networks that do not provide Internet connectivity, which can result in interrupted or lost audio during streaming.
