Sennheiser HMD 26 | Broadcast Headset with Dynamic Microphone
The Sennheiser HMD 26 is a professional broadcast headset designed for users who require accurate audio monitoring and microphone communication during program production. Featuring a lightweight design, a Supercardioid microphone, and ActiveGard® technology, it meets the demanding requirements of professional broadcasting and television production.

Sennheiser HMD 26 | Broadcast Headset with Dynamic Microphone for Radio and Television

Sennheiser HMD 26 is a broadcast headset with an integrated microphone, designed for professional radio broadcasting, television, and program production applications. It combines closed-back Dynamic headphones with a Supercardioid dynamic Microphone, supporting accurate audio monitoring and clear communication in studio and outdoor working environments.

Supercardioid Dynamic microphone - Focused Voice Pickup

The HMD 26 features a Supercardioid dynamic Microphone. This pick-up pattern focuses on sound from the front of the microphone while reducing unwanted noise from other directions. With a frequency response of up to 18,000 Hz, the microphone is suitable for voice transmission in broadcast applications.

The microphone capsule is shock-mounted to reduce mechanical noise transmitted through the headset structure. The microphone boom can be positioned on either the left or right side, providing flexibility for different wearing preferences and working arrangements.

ActiveGard® with 3 Selectable Sound Limiting Levels

ActiveGard® technology can be switched on or off and provides three selectable attenuation levels. This feature helps control sudden high-level audio peaks, reducing the risk of excessive sound reaching the user's ears. According to Sennheiser, this technology helps protect hearing against audio peaks of up to 110 dB.

This is particularly useful in live broadcasting environments, where audio levels may change unexpectedly during program production.

Lightweight On-ear Design for Flexible Use

The HMD 26 features an On-ear (supra-aural) design, with ear cushions resting directly on the ears. Its Closed-back construction helps reduce external noise. Weighing approximately 200 g, the headset is suitable for extended working sessions.

The earcup can be rotated away from the ear (Flip-away), allowing users to monitor surrounding sounds with one ear when necessary. Its modular design also supports interchangeable cables and microphone booms to suit different configurations.

Comparing Sennheiser HMD 26 and HMD 26-II Versions

In addition to the HMD 26, the HMD 26-II series includes several versions with different impedance configurations and connection codes. When selecting a model, it is important to check the headphone specifications and compatibility with the broadcast equipment being used.

Version Headphone Impedance Key Differences
HMD 26 64 & OMEGA; HMD 26 version based on current manufacturer specifications
HMD 26-II-100-8 100 Ω 100 Ω impedance configuration, version code -8
HMD 26-II-600-8 600 Ω 600 Ω impedance configuration, version code -8
HMD 26-II-600-X3K1 600 Ω 600 Ω impedance configuration, version code X3K1

Version selection note: Impedance affects headphone compatibility with the output stage of the connected equipment. Do not choose a model based on the product series name alone. Always check the impedance, cable standard, and connector type against your existing system. Both the HMD 26-II-600-8 and HMD 26-II-600-X3K1 feature 600 Ω headphone impedance but have different configuration codes. Make sure to verify the correct connection standard before placing an order.

Applications of the Sennheiser HMD 26
