Custom Designed Drivers
Turbosound is globally recognised for the design and manufacture of some of the most iconic loudspeakers and subwoofers in the Professional Audio industry. To maintain this reputation, Turbosound exclusively uses custom-designed drivers, engineered and specified in-house to meet the most demanding performance standards.
Enclosure Design
The low-distortion bass reflex design utilised in the PQ18B reinforces low frequency output for both live music and program material. Steep cut-off slopes and QUAD flared port technology ensure an effective acoustic transition when used with other elements of the PQ Series.
Construction and Connectivity
Finished in a highly durable semi-matt black paint, the enclosure is constructed from 15 mm and 18 mm plywood, and fitted with a rugged powder-coated perforated steel grille backed with acoustic foam. The rear connector panel features industry-standard twist-lock connectors for input, link and pin-swap connections. A front-mounted twist-lock connector allows clean cabling when deployed in cardioid mode.
With the increasing complexity of modern sound systems, seamless integration with Lab Gruppen IPX 4800 and PLM+ platforms is a core design requirement of the Turbosound PQ Series. Carefully engineered system presets enable maximum performance and consistency, ensuring reliable results across a wide range of applications.
Acoustic Simulation Tools
EASE GLL files are provided for use with EASE Focus 3 Acoustic Simulation Software. This allows accurate prediction of acoustic coverage and alignment of simulation strategies with DSP presets for forward-firing, cardioid and reversed end-fire configurations.
