The Neumann MT 48 is an audio interface developed from the Merging Anubis platform, combining USB, RAVENNA and ADAT connectivity in a compact desktop unit. Alongside its conversion and preamp performance, the MT 48 provides touchscreen operation, onboard DSP and extensive monitoring control, creating a flexible recording workflow for modern studio production.
Developed from the Merging Anubis
The MT 48 retains key elements of the Merging Anubis platform, including its touchscreen, internal mixer and RAVENNA networking capabilities. A major difference is the addition of USB connectivity, making the interface more straightforward to integrate with conventional computer-based production systems.
As one of the Neumann USB Audio Interfaces, the MT 48 operates class-compliantly with Macs and iPads, while Windows users require an ASIO driver for low-latency operation.
Connectivity and Expansion
The MT 48 provides two mic/line inputs, two instrument inputs, two headphone outputs, main outputs and an additional pair of balanced line outputs. Optical connections provide S/PDIF or ADAT I/O, while RAVENNA enables expansion with compatible Merging hardware.
This connectivity also positions the MT 48 among Neumann ADAT Audio Interfaces for studio workflows requiring additional digital I/O.
Preamps, DSP and Touchscreen Control
The Microphone preamps provide up to 78 dB of gain and a 136 dB input dynamic range. Internal processing includes EQ, dynamics and reverb, while processed and dry signals can be made available separately to the DAW.
